The Audiopulse True Planar is a revolutionary speaker derived from the hifi professional audio domain. Using state of the art planar technology, this speaker is able to easily out perform conventional high end dome tweeters and midrange drivers with more SPL, lower distortion and far more realistic dynamic headroom. Planar technology is ultimately able to correct many problems inherit within a resonating piston transducer with a very simplistic yet effective approach. Without the need for a complex suspension system or discrete voice coil, the planar, offers a virtually linear impedance plot and is inherently void of mechanical interference. Also, because of its robust high flux field neodymium motor, ultra light weight moving mass and very large surface area, the planar is able to play very loud with very low compression and distortion.

Not exactly a conventional tweeter or midrange driver, the True Planar is a self enclosed complete passive speaker system with an effective range of 500 to 30,000 Hz! So how does this install into a car? Well, we use a very sophisticated mounting system to allow users to fix, and then angle the speaker much like a traditional home theater wall mount design. The True Planar’s mounting system provides 3 full degrees of freedom to allow the speaker to be positioned wherever needed to provide true on-axis response and soundstage like you have never heard in a car before.

Why does the True Planar have to be externally mounted? Why can’t we hide the speakers? Does this make installation more complex? Well in fact the reasoning for this type of installation comes down to sound quality. Hidden speakers equals hidden sound. If we wanted a hidden system, we would have stuck with the same old dome tweeters you can buy anywhere. With over 10 times the surface area of a 1″ dome tweeter, the planar is vastly superior in distortion and SPL; however, they are not nearly as small and there lies the obvious lack of popularity in a car audio system. Therefore we took the initiative to make the True Planar easily adaptable into many cars for the serious audiophile.

The True Planar is actually a two way design. Simple is best and the two-way design allows the planar to be used down to 500Hz for a superior crossover point that eliminates off-axis comb filtering issues with the mid-bass door driver. More midrange comes out of the planar giving you a fuller and richer sound front. Our tweeter is also able to extend up into the supersonic frequency range well beyond 20,000 Hz adding liveliness beyond anything you’ll ever hear from a soft dome. The two-way design also allows for great offaxis response and unparalleled soundstage and dynamics throughout the entire car. Combine the True Planar with our RMB and prepare for a reference 3-way front stage that has no equal.
